What Waiver Wire Choices Can Save Your Fantasy Baseball Season?

Create a successful team in fantasy baseball by paying attention to the changes in day to day MLB lineups. Use that knowledge to scour the waiver wire in order to find the next best players for your team. Today we are ringing the Fantasy Alarm bells so that you can get a heads up on your competition. We’ve sorted our list into hitters and pitchers for your comfort.

Big Hitters

Kennys Vargas, DH – Minnesota Twins

Minnesota is going to make a run at some point this season and when they do they’ll need big hitting. Vargas has 30 home run potential when he is getting his knocks in at the plate. The only concern here is that Vargas struggles for average and ends up getting sent down.

Ben Gamel, OF – Seattle Mariners

You can’t win a game without scoring runs and that is where Ben Gamel specializes. Batting atop the order Ben Gamel combines both speed and average to give Seattle a great chance to score runs. Gamel is a former Yankee farmhand who has found new life with the Mariners. He is likely the highest owned player on this list but he should still be available in most leagues.

Big Pitchers

Luis Perdomo, SP – San Diego Padres

He doesn’t have a game changing arm but Perdomo is going to get the nod for San Diego on every 5th day. Perdomo doesn’t rack up the punch outs but he keeps the ball in the park and typically gets you at least 6 IP per outing.

Jose Urena, SP – Miami Marlins

Urena is probably the most talented arm in the Miami rotation as well as the youngest. This rookie will be getting plenty of opportunity to go out and show off his 96 MPH fastball. He’s definitely worth a pick up.
